Chronological Bible Reading Plan
The whole Bible in a year, read roughly in the order the events happened rather than the order the books are bound in.
What this plan assumes
- This is a reading order, not a settled claim about chronology. Scholars disagree about where several books belong, and every chronological plan reflects choices its compiler made.
- Isaiah is kept whole rather than split across the exile, because dividing it takes a position on authorship that a reading plan should not take quietly.
- The Psalms are grouped with the united kingdom. The Psalter was written across many centuries, so no single placement is accurate; grouping keeps the reading coherent and this note keeps it honest.

How long does the Chronological take?
365 days. It covers all 1,189 chapters of the Bible, about 85 verses a day.
Is the Chronological free?

Does every chapter get read exactly once?
Yes. The plan is checked against the text before it ships: all 1,189 chapters appear, none twice, and no day is left empty.
Why are some days longer than others?
Days are balanced by verse count rather than chapter count, because chapters vary enormously. Psalm 119 is 176 verses and Psalm 117 is two, so a chapter-balanced plan would hand out a twenty minute day and a two minute day and call them equal.
What if I miss a day?
Pick up where you left off. The order is what matters here, not the date beside it, and nothing in the plan breaks if you read Tuesday's passage on Thursday.
